So here's a quick post on first impressions which I'm writing in the browser on the iPhone, just because it seems like I should :)! Will do a more detailed review tomorrow, but first impressions are generally good with a few caveats - definitely a very cool feel to it overall. Video and photos are two of the most impressive things. The mapping capability is nice but not as functional as my BlackBerry 8800, as expected.

Peter- so jealous! I'm anxious to hear how it works... esp how zippy the web browsing is, both via GSM and WiFi.
I am a bi-product of this hysteria....hehehehehehehe
Would love to hear more about Maps feature and is there any Google presence more than we thought at first ?
I was offered one, but I am not sure I want it.
Maps with no GPS capability now or on the immediate horizon is just plain wrong.
Apple's arrogance about their perceived invulnerability to hacking, viruses and other security issues bothers me.
It's "OSX", but you apparently can't actually do any developing for it or use any third party software as you might with other OSX platforms. Haven't seen any discussion on iPhone Map or other APIs - and I believe this is by design, Apple wants to control all development efforts.
It has a lot of great feaures and innovation, but some of these other things still bother me. Maybe the next-generation iPhone...
It's tomorrow, and I'm still waiting for the update..... ;-)
Heidi did offer to go wait in line for me while I got back into town, but I had decided to hold off (originally until rev 2 came out, now maybe just until Monday...)
Patience, Aaron, patience! It's still tomorrow and the review is there now :) !!
